The majority of the people who visit our space are not "spa goers" and they often have many questions (and fears) that have prevented them from delving into the world of "spa" before now. We don't want you to miss out on our very real, down to earth experience... Let us help by clarifying a few things..

Policies

ARRIVAL TIME: Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your spa appointment to allow yourself time to get comfortable, fill out any forms and to change if necessary. Late arrivals please understand scheduled services cannot be extended. An unrushed treatment will be rendered only for the remainder of the scheduled session. You will be responsible for the full service fee.

PARKING: There is free parking provided on the south side of the building.

ATMOSPHERE: In consideration of other spa clients and in order to maintain our sense of solitude please turn off pagers and cell phones. Remember ...many people come for a once in a lifetime experience!

PAYMENT OPTIONS: For your convenience we offer several methods of payment: Interac, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and of course, cash. We do not accept cheques unless certified.

SPECIAL PROMOTIONS: Must be prepaid due to the limited number available and to secure your hair or spa package.

RESERVATIONS & CANCELLATIONS: Although an appointment is not always necessary, it is strongly recommended that you schedule your services in advance. We tend to book up quite quickly, especially for evenings and Saturdays.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Please understand that stylists and estheticians only get paid when they deliver a service...therefore missed appointments are costly for us and prevent us from catering to other clients.

In the event that you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment with us, we request it be done by email or telephone 24 hours prior to the scheduled service time. If you do not reach us by telephone, please leave a message on our voice mail system.

Due to scheduling commitments to other clients we may need to reschedule or adjust service(s) and/or duration for any appointment for which you are more than 15 minutes late.

GUARANTEE: If you are not completely delighted just tell us within 7 days and we will gladly refund your money or re-do the service for free. Must be using products and care advice we have recommended to you. Due to the nature of bright, 'punky' colors and their propensity towards fast fading, we cannot guarantee these services.

LENGTHY APPOINTMENTS: Groups of two or more people and appointments over 2 hours must be secured with a credit card or cash pre-payment and require 48 hours cancellation notice to avoid a late cancellation charge of 50% of the total service cost.

CHILDREN: While services are offered to children, supervision is required at all times during visit. Our space is a retreat for many parents who have decided to take a deserved break from their families in order that they may go home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. As a courtesy to others and for your enjoyment, we ask that you leave small children at home during your appointment. We respectfully request that children 3 years of age or younger not accompany parents while services are being performed.

GRATUITIES: Gratuities may be offered at your discretion in recognition of excellent service. Tipping is neither required nor expected. We are grateful for your loyalty and referrals. Gratuities are given directly to the professional(s) involved in your service(s). Gratuities are not included in Gift Certificates unless specified by the purchaser.

REFRESHMENTS: Melange uses the Keurig Single Cup Brewing System and offers many varieties of gourmet coffee and tea, both hot and iced. We also provide fresh, filtered water to our guests.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING: To ensure your privacy, our estheticians are fully trained in professional draping techniques. A robe is provided, but optional, to ensure your personal level of comfort. We will provide you with a pair of disposable sandals for pedicure treatments.

FRAGRANCE: As a courtesy to our chemically sensitive guests and staff, we ask that you do not wear fragrance to the salon or spa unless it is made of only essential oils. We thank you kindly.

PRIVACY: At Melange Salon & Spa we are committed to protecting your privacy. We are compliant with the Privacy Act. This means that the information you give us is always kept in strict confidence and is for use within Melange Salon & Spa only. Our procedures and staff training place great emphasis on privacy and we are proud of the systems that are in place.
